Our Partners

We are blessed to share our building facilities with many groups and non-profit organizations who share the mission and values of the church. We have several meeting spaces and a full gymnasium that are used throughout the year. Our current partners include:

Lincoln Square Ravenswood Solidarity Network

Mutual aid networks are historic practices of community members coming together to provide for fellow community members. One might argue the early church was about mutual aid for all (Acts 2:42-47). During the Coronavirus outbreak, RFUMC was committed to sharing with our neighbors by providing space to the LSRSN for cleaning and organizing donations for our neighbors in need. In a time of uncertainty about physical health, financial security, and sheltering-in-place, our neighbors came together to care for each other.

Ravenswood Shorin-ryu Karate Dojo

A community-based dojo, we value good character and community relations as much as, if not more than, technical ability. Like other modern Japanese martial ways the purpose of karatedo lies not in the victory over one’s opponent, but the disciplining of one’s body and the forging of one’s spirit through rigorous training.

Choyokan Kendo Dojo

The Japanese martial art of swordsmanship, is more of a self-discipline rather than a self-defense. Its practices are vigorous and demanding; the art is challenging and fun to learn. If you are a person seeking a "way" to self development, and not merely trophies, Kendo training may be for you.

Open to all and held every Saturday in February and March, the clinic offers fun group basketball skills and drills for kids 3 and up. Theater and Music

We have several spaces that have been used for theater group rehearsals. Our Sanctuary space is a great venue for concerts and recitals. Groups that have been at the church recently include: Jonathan Hannau, Duo Yomeno, Ursa Ensemble, Eriko & Kimiko Darcy, Lycee Francais de Chicago, Other Theater Company, and the Route 66 Theater Company.

Sports Groups

Our gym is used throughout the year for basketball, soccer, volleyball and other sports activities. We prioritize youth sports teams particularly in the early evening.

For more information on these groups or if you are interested in sharing our space, please contact the group websites above or contact the Church office (ravfelumc@yahoo.com / 773.561.2610). We welcome groups that share the overall mission and values of the church.
